Ketogenic Diet Day 1


Monday, February 11, was my first day eating a ketogenic diet. I had not been tracking my food for a long time, so the numbers were a shock.

Here’s what I ate:

1.5 oz Cheese, brie 142
0.125 cup, shredded Cheese, cheddar 56.9
2 tbsp Cream, sour, cultured 46.3
2 tbsp Oil, coconut 234.5
4 tbsp Nuts, coconut milk, canned (liquid expressed from grated meat and water) 118.2
9 oz Pork, fresh, ground, cooked 757.3
3 oz Ground turkey, 93% lean, 7% fat, raw 127.6
0.5 cup, pieces or slices Mushrooms, white, raw 7.7
1 oz Cheese, gouda 100.9
2.5 tbsp Oil, coconut 293.1
1 oz Seeds, chia seeds, dried 138.9
4 1 cup chicken stock 344
0.25 lbs Beef, ground, 80% lean meat / 20% fat, raw 288
0.5 serving 1/2 cup Sauce, pasta, spaghetti/marinara, ready-to-serve 55.7

Here’s what my macros looked like:

Energy: 2711 calories

Protein 21% 129g
Fat 74% 200g
Carbs 5% 30g

My calories were very high and so were my protein grams. I have been adjusting these numbers and my food all week with varying degrees of success.
